iDrive controller not working - need help with diagnosis and P/N. Hi I purchased a used 2012 x5 not too long ago. Today the iDrive controller stopped working - buttons, round knob, nothing works. The screen seems to function ok because I can use some voice commands to move the selections on the screen. The iDrive seems clean and console iTrader: ( 0) Idrive controller upgrade to touch version. As part of my on-going car upgrades (this part being an upgrade of nav (sa6un) to “Nav plus” (SA6UP). I started the project by switching the 6.5” touch screen to the 8.8” version and was delighted with the result. I have posted instruction for fitting and coding in a couple of It may work or half work without coding. From a coding perspective the CCC is actually 5 control units: - CGATE - CTUNE - CHOST - CAUD - CAPPL All of these need to be default coded. A BMW dealer cannot code a used unit but a independent BMW specialist could do it with the right software. In fact you could do it yourself if you bought the Originally Posted by Mashman. If there is nothing wrong with those, then the issue is with the kcan wires. If your cruise engages and quickly disengages, broken teeth are probably your issue. Check out the 9 o'clock position of the gear wheel of the actuator on the left. You'll see a section of 4 or 5 teeth missing. The actuator on the right has a couple of chipped teeth and wouldn't hold cruise engaged either. . BMW of NA-is useless and will not help you especially with a 545i. You can try to find a shop that fixes these CCC-$200-400-theres one in cali, by a used CCC-$500 or do a CIC up grade for about $1,500. I'm sorry to hear your ordeal. I have no faith in the dealership none whatsoever. To change the IDrive options that don't show up, you will need to change the coding for the IDrive. Movies I don't think will be an option that is available. BMW shutdown the 2G services in the last couple of years, since 5G services are supported. Upgrading to the CIC would probably allow that option, but coding & programming would be needed BZM (device 0x62) sets the 6th byte as 02 in addition to the 01 byte 4. Some devices (4E7-4EA, notably including front and rear iDrive controller) have byte 3 FE instead of FF for all other devices. 3. when your node is tagged in an 02 or 12 message, tag the next higher node you know of with a 12 message.
